The Carnival
So one activity that the kids insisted on doing was having a carnival. Our kids are always looking for a way to make some money and they decided a carnival would be fun and a step above a lemonade stand. They spent like three days (between other events of course) planning this all out. Making out signs and flyers and deciding on the games. Originally it was planned from 10-4 in the afternoon and the ticket prices were a little steep, but after some adjustments (2 hour carnival and 25 cent games) they handed out flyers around the neighborhood, because lets face it, we live at the top of a dead end street and there just isn't a lot of foot traffic! They were so cute and they actually had quite a few customers. The booths were an obstacle course, a throw the sponge at the kid game, nail and hair station, a sling shot game and popsicle and otter pops. They had a great time and it was so fun to watch them organize things. They had candy for prizes and were very happy with their profit (even divided by four.) The best part was when Kelsey said to London, this is awesome, my mom would never let me do this...finally I'm the nice aunt! (except for the fact that she was the nice aunt to go get all the supplies!) Let's hope this holds them over on money making tactics until next summer...not likely I'm guessing.
