Winter Break Snow.....

I know that this is from a long time ago, but for me this blog is about me documenting mostly for myself and kids, so you may see many late posts, since I have been such a slacker blogger lately.

During Winter Break we always go ice skating. The kids always look forward to it....Mike always says, I'm just going to watch you guys and the stuff (and read a book), those skates hurt my feet, and I always say, they hurt everyones feet. Anyway, this year we went to Lloyd Center, instead of sketchy Valley, which is much closer, but soo cold. Not that Lloyd Center doesn't have some sketchiness, but wow, it is so much warmer and much more holidayish, with it being in the mall. Not to mention the yummy carmel corn store. They also have a funny little performance after they clean the ice, this year a couple about 65-70 years old doing a very sweet number....anyway...
Cole was definitely getting the hang of skating this year and my back certainly thanked him....So, while we were skating we heard someone say, it's snowing outside, of course this was not forcasted at all. We left about an hour or so after we heard this news and it really was snowing and coming down hard and the streets were all covered. So the problem was.... we were on the other side of town at 5pm in Mike's Lexus, which does terrible in the snow. We headed across the river and realized with the traffic and the roads that we weren't going to make it up Burnside, so after a quick stop at Pizza Schmizza (everyone was hungry and I didn't want to hear about it if we were stuck in traffic) we tried to head over to get on the freeway. As we are sitting in crazy traffic, with people sliding all over the place, and a brand new Beamer side swiping the car next to us, we debated what to do. One the radio, they were talking about how bad Sunset Highway was, and how it basically was shut down. We still couldn't figure out what to do, when we kind of started sliding into a parking lot near Goose Hollow. We decided to park it and take the MAX home. Luckily at the MAX station we saw some friends and they drove us home. It was quite an adventure, and the kids stayed out until like 10:00 playing in the snow.
The Face in front of PGE park, where we were stuck for about 45 minutes in traffic.... atleast it was really pretty

London and Kate decided to start rolling snowmen balls all the way from Tazza, but they didn't quite make it up the hill...
